Buckingham Palace ticket prices, summer 2026

The standard ticket is for the State Rooms during the summer opening, which ran from 9 July to 27 September 2026. You book a time slot, and the Royal Collection Trust recommends booking ahead. Adults paid £33 in advance and £37 on the day. Prices are per person and in pounds.

The King's Gallery and the Royal Mews have their own tickets. A State Rooms ticket does not include them, and theirs do not include the palace. This site does not sell tickets. It explains what exists so you can choose.

The winter East Wing tour

A guided way in when the summer opening is over.

The East Wing Exclusive Guided Tour is announced for 6 November 2026 to 31 January 2027, Friday to Monday, plus 22, 23, 29, 30 and 31 December. It does not run on 20 November, 25 December or 26 December. Start times fall between 10:00 and 15:30. The tour lasts 90 minutes, takes at most 20 people and is in English for adults only. You must book ahead.

The State Rooms are not part of it. The Centre Room looks onto the balcony, but standing on it is not promised. A free companion place for a disabled visitor is booked separately. The operator does not sell this tour on to tour companies or travel agents, so a similar-sounding offer elsewhere is a different product.

The 12-month pass

One ticket, several visits, with conditions.

Eligible tickets bought directly from the Royal Collection Trust can be turned into a pass valid for 12 months from your first visit. You use it on public opening days, subject to availability, and it is not transferable. Booking a return visit by phone costs a £2 transaction fee. Without a booking you can only enter if there is room that day. Bring the signed original ticket and proof of your signature.

Reseller and tour operator tickets, free tickets and £1 tickets are excluded. A special guided tour is not automatically repeatable either. The East Wing tour ticket covers the normal summer visit, not a second guided tour.

Buying tips

Things that save money or avoid a wrong purchase.

Check what is included

The word palace tour alone does not mean you go inside. Look for State Rooms entry in the list of inclusions, and compare the price with the £33 base ticket.

Book Gallery dates early

The Gallery holds no tickets back for walk-up visitors and keeps no waiting list for sold-out days. Because of demand, book ahead.

Plan for access

The normal State Rooms route is not step-free. Book the accessible route through the Specialist Sales Team, and ask for accessible parking at least 3 full working days ahead.

Buckingham Palace tickets: frequently asked questions

How much is a Buckingham Palace ticket?

For the summer 2026 State Rooms visit, adults paid £33 in advance and £37 on the day. Young adults aged 18 to 24 paid £21.50 and £24.50, and children aged 5 to 17 paid £16.50 and £18.50. Children under 5 were free.

Does a King's Gallery or Royal Mews ticket include the palace?

No. The State Rooms, the Gallery and the Mews are separate visits with separate tickets. A combined ticket exists in some seasons.

Can I buy a ticket on the day?

Yes, at the on-the-day price, if capacity remains. Summer visits use time slots, so booking ahead is the safer plan. The Gallery holds no tickets back for walk-ups.

Is the annual pass included with every ticket?

No. Only eligible tickets bought directly from the Royal Collection Trust can be converted. Reseller tickets, free tickets and £1 tickets are excluded, and the pass cannot be passed on.

Can I get in with only a tour ticket?

Only if the tour lists State Rooms entry. Many walking tours stay outside the palace. External guides are not allowed to lead groups through the palace rooms.

What do I do if the summer opening is over?

Look at the King's Gallery, which is open daily during its current exhibition, or the East Wing tour from 6 November 2026. See the opening times for the full picture.
