What the King's Gallery is

The King's Gallery is a gallery for changing exhibitions at Buckingham Palace. It is a visit of its own. A Gallery ticket is not a ticket for the State Rooms, and the Royal Mews sells its own tickets as well.

The current exhibition is Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style. It opened on 10 April 2026 and has been extended to 18 April 2027. It shows more than 300 objects from her personal fashion archive.

This site is an independent guide. The Royal Collection Trust runs the Gallery and sells the tickets.

Prices for 2026 and 2027

Per person. The Gallery sets separate prices for each year, and the 2027 prices are already announced.

Booking and planning

Book ahead, because walk-up seats are not held back.

Book early

The exhibition page keeps no tickets back for walk-up visitors and keeps no waiting list for sold-out days. Demand is high, so book in good time.

Fitting it into your day

Treat the Gallery as one stop in a day around the palace, The Mall and St James's Park. The Royal Mews is a different visit with its own ticket.

On site

The Gallery is accessible for visitors with reduced mobility. There is no cafe and no car park at the building. You may not eat or drink inside, except for bottled water.

After April 2027

The current show ends on 18 April 2027. Check what the Gallery shows next before you plan a trip around a later date.

A few things to know before you plan

The basics in one place.

A separate ticket

A State Rooms ticket or a Royal Mews ticket does not admit you to the Gallery. Each visit is sold on its own.

The year of your visit

The price follows the year in which you visit. A ticket for 2026 costs £22 for an adult, and for 2027 the adult price is £24.

Allow for the closing time

The Gallery closes at 17:30 and the last entry is at 16:15. Arrive well before the last entry if you want time with the more than 300 objects.

Families and young visitors

Children aged 5 to 17 pay £11 in 2026 and £12 in 2027. Children under 5 enter free of charge, and so does an access companion.

Food and drink

You may not eat or drink inside, except bottled water. There is no cafe at the building, so plan a meal before or after your visit.
